Waiting For Godot

Excerpts from "Lucky's Speech" performed by Stephen Brennan

Underneath a leafless tree, me honey
Somewhere on a wide open road
Get off my boots from my feet, so funny
While waiting for Godot

Talking 'bout Jesus I fell to sleep
And you wouldn't hear my dreams
Tellin' a joke you had to pee
We should hang ourselves, it seems

And I said: Come on let's go
And you said: Oh, but we can't
We have to wait for Godot
Till he comes in the end

When I grew hungry you gave me a carot
And along came Lucky and Pozzo
This dancing and thinking it made me nervous
While waiting for Godot

It's a story by Samuel Beckett
Written down quite a while ago
What it's good for ? What the heck ! It's
Called “Waiting for Godot”

And you said: Come on let's go
And I said: Oh, but we can't
We have to wait for Godot
Till he comes in the end
