Clouds of grey, TV-antennas
Smoking chimneys, soaring birds
Flashing blue of ambulances
Traffic sounds, that's all I've heared

Sun is sinking, moon is rising
And a lonely dog that howls
Somewhere beyond the dark horizon
Powers of night are on the prowl

And a voice, silent as ever
Gives answer to an unheared cry
You will never see through heaven
By just looking at the sky

Even in this world I've chosen
For I don't remember why
I've seen hearts and laughter frozen
As the times went passing by

I've seen friends losing direction
Lovers change to enemies
And that's all but a reflection
Of how mean life really is
