The Lady and the City and the Moonlight Blues
(© by Ko-Do 1999)
After the late night show
At the outskirts of the town
She said "let's have a go
Just you and me drifting around"
I slipped into my flyin' shoes
And got the lady and the city and the moonlight blues
We made the honkytonks and bars
A midnight dance at twelve o 'clock
Followed the guiding stars
Their glance would get off all our rocks
And I still wore my flyin' shoes
And got the lady and the city and the moonlight blues
We put a coin into the well
Just before the break of day
We made it home and broke the spell
And on her pillows we did lay
Then I put off my flyin' shoes
And got the lady and the city and the moonlight blues
