Waters Run High

Waters run deep and bridges burn slow
But if nature builds bridges, it seems to show
On it's way back, to how it was in the past
That waters run high, and bridges fall fast

Five feet high and rising, back in 1937
Mississippi river rose up to the levees
And Johnny Cash, that Jackass and Old Fart
Made a song of it that made it to the charts

A few years later, Royal Billy Joe
Came out with a song "Old Bridges Burn Slow"
Now Mother Nature herself is playing a hit
In a hardrockin' style that won't seem to fit

Waters run deep and bridges burn slow
But if nature builds bridges, it seems to show
On it's way back, to how it was in the past
That waters run high, and bridges fall fast
